Recyclable
Material that can enter an existing recycling stream after use; for paper packaging, single material and no coatings.
For packaging to count as recyclable, it must be able to enter a stream that has collection and processing infrastructure (paper, glass, metal, certain plastics). In paper packaging, plastic coatings, mixed materials and plastic tape all undermine this.
A single-material package (paper box, paper fill and paper tape) keeps the claim simple and defensible.
